Some designs start with an idea. This one started with a memory.
Inspired by the classic X-Men #111 comic cover, this lightbox is especially meaningful to us here at From The Dave Cave. This was an issue David read to Ray when she was little as part of their nightly reading together. Years later, that shared love of comics—and making things together—helped become part of what From The Dave Cave is today.
The design recreates the distinctive vintage comic-cover layout with Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus, and the rest of the team emerging from a brilliant green illuminated background. When switched on, the colors come alive and give the piece the feel of a classic comic book transformed into glowing display art.
3D printed and assembled by us, the lightbox includes a built-in hanger on the back for easy wall display. Its slim comic-book-inspired shape also makes it an eye-catching addition to a comic room, game room, office, or collector's display.
For us, this one is more than an X-Men lightbox. It's a little piece of our own history—from bedtime comic books to building things together in the Cave.
